Types of canvas available

Standard canvas

  • 300gsm, 100% cotton, natural white canvas with minimal loss of detail in image reproduction.
  • Resists cracking.
  • Finest museum quality reproductions.
  • Printed using an advanced 12 colour UV ink Giclee process.
  • Extremely hard wearing and is not susceptible to warping.
  • Canvas can be re-stretched over time, which can be of particular importance for the larger sizes.

Luxury canvas

  • 450gsm textured, 21mil bright white, cotton matte canvas using an acid-free, neutral pH coating.
  • Heavy canvas creates a stable platform on which to print the highest quality fine art images and photographs.
  • Excellent durability and outstanding fade-resistance for more than 200 years.
  • Extremely hard wearing and is not susceptible to warping.
  • Canvas can be re-stretched over time, which can be of particular importance for the larger sizes we offer.

Synthetic Canvas

  • Specially designed and developed for fine art digital printing.
  • The material maximises the print detail through fine definition and helps improve the longevity of the colour.
  • Much more stable than a natural fibre, and much finer.
  • Colours guaranteed to remain true for over 100 years.
  • Rigid frame, preventing it from twisting and sagging.

Canvas finishes

Unlike with traditional framed prints, stretching a canvas around a wooden frame means that you can have a choice of finishes for the sides of the print. These choices are outlined below:

Mirror Wrap

Mirror Wrap

Mirroring the edges of the print provides a gallery wrap appearance, but without the loss of any of the image from the front.

Pixel Bleed

Pixel Bleed

This process takes the final line of pixels along the borders of the image and stretches them onto the sides of the canvas, so offering a more continuous flow of the image than a solid edge would allow, whilst also ensuring that the image doesn’t appear warped.
